Have you ever had these thoughts where you traveled back in time and just reminisced the good things in the past?

That time when you were physically fit,
That time when you were mentally sharp,
That time when you were competitive,
That time when you were discipline,
That time when things were really doing well for you.

For many of us, these memories have become remnants of the past. They are no longer our realities today. Frustrating, right?

I know the feeling. I lived that same reality as well. I would set a goal, hit it and when things are good, I became complacent. I would repeat the same cycle. The way I approached things in the past was from a seasoned perspective.

Out of that disappointment made me realized to change my ways and become aware of every action and decision that I take. I don’t want it to be just a memory. I want it to be a way of life for me. I WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT AS WELL TODAY.

The Process is very simple but will require so much commitment. Let me break it down for you:

  1. Self-awareness – Every person lives in a certain reality and consciousness. There are behavioral patterns that are automatic to us and sometimes we don’t account for the nuances in our behaviors. We are so used to it that we become resistant to change. Awareness is the first step to change. When certain behaviors are not helping you become a better you, perhaps you need to decide on what needs to change.
  2. Taking Action – This is where most of us get stuck. We know that there’s something we need to change, yet we are having a difficult time taking action. Don’t do it alone. I always believed that part of the process is accountability in all areas of my life. Find someone who will push you to take that first step and will help you track your progress. It could be a friend, a spouse, or a community. Part of taking action is having a concrete plan and decision to commit to that plan.
  3. Improvement- Whether things go well for you or not, there’s always room for improvement. Seek ways and wisdom to improve your personal best. Make learning a lifetime mission because that will anchor your development. Don’t stop improving.

The PROCESS is painful. It’s going to frustrate you but it will teach you. It will humble you.

There is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH. I had to go through hardships to make me who I am today be it in career, family, financial, mental, spiritual, and physical life.

Attached to that process is FAITH. Understanding that your strength and your ability to overcome originates from God, gives you the right mindset in getting through the process.

The process is a lifestyle. It not seasonal. It is something that we integrate into our lives every day.
